Hacksaw Gaming has secured Danish Gambling Authority approval for 2025 launch

Hacksaw Gaming has obtained approval from Spillemyndigheden, the Danish Gambling Authority. Starting 1 January 2025, the company can officially offer its iGaming titles to players in Denmark. This milestone is a significant step in Hacksaw Gaming’s European expansion.

Marcus Cordes, CEO of Hacksaw Gaming, said: “This is another incredible achievement for our teams. We’re thrilled to bring Danish players the excitement and innovation that define Hacksaw Gaming.”

The Danish approval follows a series of key European developments for Hacksaw Gaming in 2023. The company has forged partnerships in several countries, bolstering its presence across the continent. Hacksaw Gaming partnered with Scommettendo and Newgioco earlier this year. Collaborations with Betclic and Solverde.pt marked another highlight. In April, Hacksaw Gaming partnered with Alphawin, launching 12 titles on the Bulgarian-facing platform. A spokesperson for Alphawin praised the deal, calling Hacksaw Gaming’s approach to casino gaming “innovative and unique.”

Hacksaw Gaming continues to position itself as a leader in iGaming innovation. With Denmark added to its growing portfolio, the company aims to deliver engaging and creative gaming experiences to new audiences across Europe.

Booming Games has received Danish Gambling Authority licence

Booming Games has also reached a major milestone by securing a B2B gaming licence from the Danish Gambling Authority (DGA). This achievement allows the company to offer its acclaimed iGaming content to licensed operators in Denmark.

The acquisition of the DGA licence highlights Booming Games’ commitment to expanding its footprint in the European market. It builds on the company’s growing portfolio of certifications, further solidifying its reputation as a leading provider of iGaming content.

Frederik Niehusen, Chief Commercial Officer at Booming Games, said:
“We are thrilled to announce our full Danish B2B gaming licence. This milestone allows us to strengthen our presence in Denmark’s dynamic market. It also enables us to enhance our product portfolio to better serve our customers.”

This move positions Booming Games to deliver top-quality gaming experiences to players across Europe. The company is set to capitalise on new opportunities in the region while meeting the needs of an expanding audience.

Earlier, Booming Games secured certification from Brazil’s Secretariat of Evaluation, Planning, Energy, and Lottery (SECAP).

GamCare reports 25% rise in national gambling helpline contacts

GamCare’s Annual Report reveals a sharp rise in demand for its services. The National Gambling Helpline handled 55,228 calls and online chats during the 2023-24 period—a 25% increase compared to the previous year.

This surge underscores the growing need for gambling harm prevention and treatment. It coincides with ongoing discussions around gambling reforms proposed in the government’s white paper.

Of the total contacts received, 74% (41,070 interactions) resulted in direct interventions. These included initial advice, guidance, and referrals to structured treatment programs.

GamCare delivered 9,100 free treatment sessions over the year. The average waiting time for referrals to treatment was just 2.1 days.

The Office for Health Improvement and Disparities highlighted GamCare’s impact. Over half (57%) of individuals in treatment had been referred through the charity’s services.

Beyond helpline operations, GamCare expanded its prevention initiatives. It trained 10,344 professionals and educated 53,324 young people, parents, and children about gambling risks.

A separate December survey showed an increase in gambling activity over the festive season. Around 59% of respondents with gambling problems said they were more likely to gamble during Christmas, up from 37% the previous year.

Helpline demand in December rose by 39%, marking the busiest Christmas period to date. Last week, the Joint Gambling Authority of the States (GGL) issued a crucial warning for the holiday season.

Margot Daly, GamCare’s Executive Chair, praised staff efforts: “Amidst heightened demand, our team has remained focused on preventing harm and providing essential treatment.”
