Peter & Sons expanded in the UK via White Hat Gaming partnership
Peter & Sons has integrated its portfolio on the White Hat Gaming network. This move, powered by the studio’s partnership with Light & Wonder, opens access to a broader audience within the UK.

Popular Peter & Sons titles are now available on White Hat Gaming’s platforms. This collaboration strengthens Peter & Sons’ position in the market and builds on its global distribution agreement with Light & Wonder, signed earlier this year. The agreement has already enabled the studio to enter other regulated markets such as Spain, Italy, and Canada.
Yann Bautista, Commercial Director at Peter & Sons, described the partnership as a key moment for the company. He said: “The deal with Light & Wonder was a major milestone for Peter & Sons. Going live with White Hat Gaming marks the start of an exciting new chapter. White Hat Gaming is a major player both in the UK and globally. This collaboration is a win-win for both companies.”
Jamie Lees, Head of Content at White Hat Gaming, added: “Our platform hosts games from over 130 providers, but none are quite like Peter & Sons. Their titles bring something truly unique to the market.”
Earlier, Peter & Sons made its debut in the Italian market through a partnership with Eurobet.
Lawmakers propose model framework for legalising online gambling in new states
A new model framework for legalising online gambling has been introduced by lawmakers in US states where gambling is already legal. Developed by the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS), this proposal aims to guide other states considering the move.
The framework highlights key recommendations, including a tax rate between 15% and 25% and a prohibition on credit card deposits. These measures are designed to help states craft effective, responsible legislation.
The proposal heavily relies on successful regulatory models, particularly that of New Jersey, where online gambling has been legal since 2013.
David Rebuck, former head of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, played a key advisory role in developing the framework. Rebuck commented: “Ninety-five percent of this mirrors what we’re already doing in New Jersey, which is good. It’s a great start that builds on what is already in place and operational elsewhere.”
Currently, seven US states – Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and West Virginia – offer legal online casino games. Nevada permits internet poker only.
However, many states remain in the deliberation stage. Recent efforts in Maryland stalled in April 2024. Similarly, New York has faced challenges in pushing forward legislation that includes a proposed 31.5% tax rate.
The proposed 15%-25% tax range seeks to balance revenue generation with market accessibility. By avoiding excessively high rates, the framework aims to attract operators of all sizes. This is crucial for fostering competition and ensuring diverse options for consumers.
West Virginia delegate Shaun Fluharty underscored this approach: “We didn’t want to form a barrier to entry into the market with a high tax rate that only the biggest companies could afford.”
The framework also prioritises consumer safety. Proposed measures include deposit limits capped at $20,000 per 24 hours and the creation of state-level regulatory bodies where none exist.
The financial appeal of online gambling legalisation is evident. States see it as a significant revenue stream to address budget pressures. In 2023, New Jersey alone generated over $414 million in tax revenue from online sports and casino betting.

France will begin consultations on online casino regulation
Working groups will meet this Tuesday to discuss the regulation of online casinos in France. These groups are part of a six-month consultation process launched after the government delayed plans for regulation. Concerns raised by the land-based casino sector prompted the postponement.
French ministries hold differing views on the issue. The Ministry of Health highlights the potential public health risks. The Budget Ministry, however, prioritises generating revenue to tackle France’s debt and budget deficit. Meanwhile, the Ministry of the Interior’s perspective is crucial, as it oversees land-based casinos.
Online sports betting and poker have been legal in France since 2010. However, online casinos remain prohibited. Plans to introduce a regulated market in 2025 faced backlash from local authorities and land-based casino operators.
Casinos de France, the representative body for land-based venues, is pushing for exclusivity for “digital mirrors” of their offerings. They argue that open competition would mirror the sports betting sector, where three brands dominate 80% of the market.
AFJEL, the trade body for online gambling operators, warns of a thriving unlicensed online casino market. It has proposed a compensation fund for France’s communes. However, mayors and land-based casinos question the fund’s feasibility.
The first three months of the consultation will focus on whether online casino regulation is necessary. The next three months will explore how regulation should be implemented if approved.
BGaming secures key licence in Peru
BGaming has achieved a major milestone in its Latin American growth strategy by obtaining a licence in Peru. The approval from Peru’s gambling authority, Mincetur, grants BGaming’s technical gaming software system and portfolio of games official certification for the newly regulated market.
This B2B certification enhances BGaming’s appeal to locally licenced operators. It also positions the company to capitalise on the region’s rapidly expanding online gaming and sports betting sector.
The licence strengthens BGaming’s footprint in Latin America. Over the past year, the company has gained significant recognition across the region.
Marina Ostrovtsova, CEO of BGaming, noted: “Securing the Peru licence is an important moment in our global expansion. It highlights our commitment to delivering high-quality, immersive gaming experiences to new audiences, We look forward to the growth opportunities this unlocks and the positive reception of our games in this new market.”
