Play’n GO has grown its Latin America presence with the launch of Betano Colombia
Online casino games developer Play’n GO has further developed its footprint across Latin America, launching its full suite of slot games with leading GameTech operator Kaizen Gaming in Colombia. The global igaming power player operates Betano as its online gaming brand and will now be able to offer a full complement of their high-quality gaming content to players in the South American country. The integration brings a significant boost of top-tier entertainment to the Colombian casino sector, and gives immediate access to widely popular slot titles from Play’n GO.

The launch ensures that Play’n GO has reinforced their presence within one of the more stable and mature regulated igaming markets in Latin America.
Colombia provides an industry-leading regulatory environment, a reason it is often favoured by internationally regulated online gaming operators, and this partnership brings together Play’n GO with a huge new player base eager for trusted and premium entertainment.
“Colombia is an incredibly important market for Play’n GO and this partnership highlights the significance we place upon it,” explained Magnus Olsson, Chief Commercial Officer at Play’n GO. “It is clearly one of the more mature and stable regulated markets within Latin America, so this was a natural hub for our long term global expansion strategy.” Olsson concluded by singling out the reputation and brand value of Betano on the global stage and its shared values regarding product excellence: “Betano’s brand is globally recognized for providing a premium player experience, and we feel our portfolio is perfectly aligned with that commitment. We are extremely confident this launch in Colombia will be a great success for both parties.”

Dutch gambling regulator wants ban on gambling for vulnerable people automatically imposed
The Dutch gambling watchdog, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), wants all vulnerable citizens to automatically be unable to place bets. KSA chairman Michel Groothuizen requested the government connect the national ban list for gamblers, Cruks, to the Central Curatorship and Administration Register (CCBR). People can be added to the CCBR list if they cannot make safe decisions about their financial and personal situation.
This usually occurs when they have, for example, been struggling with:
- Prolonged addiction
- Severe mental problems
- Large, unmanageable debts
- Guardianship or a curatorshipp.
According to Groothuizen, the state secretary can use the parliamentary summer recess to pass a simple law with the help of the parliamentary parties, making everyone on the CCBR register automatically unable to play games for the duration that they have been granted court protection. “This is the same system as our neighbors already use in Belgium and Germany for similar groups of citizens,” Groothuizen added. Currently, approximately 120,000 people who have imposed a self-exclusion gambling ban are registered in Cruks. In addition, KSA is cracking down on the gambling companies active online.
Online casinos, in particular, already have to carry out financial checks on their customers and on that topic, the regulator has recently put the guidance up to date.
Many online operators have made their systems better after an initial check by the KSA, but there is still room for improvement for some. The KSA conducted interviews with ten of these, gave warnings to three and even an instruction to one betting company.
