This platform allows players to exclude themselves from gambling activities for a predetermined period or indefinitely, depending on their specific needs. Despite the exclusion, individuals can still access their accounts to withdraw any existing funds.

Ioanna Fiakkou, President of the National Betting Authority, emphasised the platform’s significance in fostering responsible gambling habits and safeguarding vulnerable groups. She highlighted the Authority’s dedication to player protection and ensuring a fair betting landscape.

Initially, the platform applies to online betting providers holding a Class B licence, with plans for expansion to incorporate additional functionalities. The exclusion process is cost-free and includes all forms of betting services and operators.

Moreover, aside from preventing participation in active accounts, the platform also bars players from creating new accounts.

Meanwhile, in a recent report by the American Gaming Association (AGA), it was revealed that the combined revenue from slot machines, tabletop games and betting offices in brick-and-mortar casinos, and online bets in the United States surged to $66.52 billion in 2023. This marked a substantial 10.0% increase compared to the $60.5 billion recorded in 2022.

Slot machines contributed $35.51 billion to this total, demonstrating a growth of 3.8% from the previous year. Revenue from casino tabletop games reached $10.31 billion, reflecting a 3.5% uptick.

The most remarkable surge was witnessed in sports betting, which saw a record revenue of $10.9 billion, a remarkable 44.5% increase from the previous year. The volume of sports betting also hit an all-time high, soaring by 27.8% to reach $119.8 billion.

Earlier it was reported that Denmark’s gambling revenue increased in 2023.
