Swintt has expanded German market presence with Jokerstar.de partnership
Swintt has strengthened its position in the German online gaming market by teaming up with Jokerstar.de. The partnership is now live, bringing SwinttPremium slots to Jokerstar.de’s platform.

Players can now enjoy a range of games designed to capture the essence of classic land-based slots.
Lars Kollind, Swintt’s Head of Business Development, stated: “SwinttPremium games have already proven incredibly popular with German players. We’re thrilled to extend our reach further by offering these exciting titles to Jokerstar.de’s customers.”
Jokerstar.de, which launched its online casino platform two years ago, has quickly become one of Germany’s leading gaming sites. Nico Müller, Project Manager at Jokerstar.de, highlighted the brand’s growth: “Despite being a young platform, Jokerstar.de has built a strong reputation in Germany. Partnering with Swintt allows us to enhance our offering with games that connect with a wide range of players.”
This latest collaboration follows Swintt’s major advancements in other regulated markets. In December 2024, the company partnered with Dutch operator Hommerson.nl to supply over 140 games. This included SwinttPremium and Elysium Studios titles, targeting both traditional and modern slot players.
Earlier in 2024, Swintt expanded into the UK by collaborating with White Hat Gaming.
Gambling accounts for 10.69% of UK consumers’ leisure spending
New research from the Department of Trust (DoT) has shed light on the spending habits of over 300,000 UK consumers. Gambling makes up 10.69% of the average monthly leisure spend, according to an analysis of transactions from April 2023 to April 2024.
The study reviewed the financial activity of 304,022 individuals who made payments to UK-licensed gambling operators. During the 12-month period, these consumers deposited a net total of £150.8 million with gambling companies.
Contrary to some industry claims of rising gambling expenditure, the findings offer a broader perspective. For most consumers, gambling is one of many leisure activities. Media subscriptions, food delivery, and other entertainment options take up a larger share of spending.
The average gambler spends £390 per month on leisure activities. Gambling ranks fifth on their list of priorities, after services like streaming platforms and takeaway meals.
High-value gamblers, defined as those depositing over £150 net, display different spending patterns. They dedicate 42.15% of their leisure budget to gambling, equating to an average monthly spend of £191. Their total leisure spend also exceeds the average at £452.38, compared to £386.67 for all consumers.
Despite this, even high-value players spend more on food delivery (£36.52) and entertainment media (£35) than most other categories, except gambling.
Charles Cohen, CEO of DoT, commented on the findings. He emphasised that gambling remains part of a balanced leisure mix for most individuals. Gambling, he added, does not seem to replace other forms of entertainment or encourage a “stay-at-home” lifestyle.
The data reveals other spending habits among UK gamblers:
- McDonald’s tops the list of food delivery choices.
- Fitness and gym subscriptions are popular.
- Over a third of gamblers make regular charitable donations directly from their bank accounts.
These trends underline the varied spending priorities of UK consumers, with gambling forming just one piece of the puzzle.
Yggdrasil has secured Danish B2B gaming licence until 2029
Yggdrasil, a leading iGaming publisher, has obtained a B2B gaming licence from Denmark’s gambling authority, Spillemyndigheden. This development follows new legislation introduced at the start of 2025, ensuring Yggdrasil can continue providing its popular gaming portfolio to Danish players.
The company first entered the Danish market in 2017. With this new licence, Yggdrasil is authorised to operate locally until 2029.
Jose Simon, Yggdrasil’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “We’re excited to begin 2025 on such a high note. Yggdrasil continues to strengthen its presence in key regulated markets worldwide. As a brand with Scandinavian roots, we are proud to offer top-quality gaming content to Danish operators and players.”
Yggdrasil operates in numerous markets through strategic partnerships. Recently, the company collaborated with Galera.bet in Brazil and Paf Group in Spain. In December 2024, its partner Hungrybear gained UK certification for SlotMasters, a multiplayer slot game available for real-money play.
