Danish gambling revenue has increased across all sectors
In June, the Danish gambling regulator Spillemyndigheden reported a significant increase in revenue across all four gambling sectors. Total Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) surged to DKK 703 million, marking a 37% year-on-year growth.
Sports betting saw the most substantial rise, with revenue climbing by 75.71% to DKK 271 million, largely driven by the excitement surrounding Euro 2024. Mobile betting dominated this segment, contributing 72.98% of the total betting revenue. Online casinos also experienced a boost, leading the revenue figures with DKK 303 million. However, this increase was primarily attributed to the higher sports betting revenue.
Gaming machines generated DKK 97 million, up 6.61%, while land-based casinos saw a 7.1% rise, bringing in DKK 32 million.

Brazil has officially confirmed the regulation of iGaming
Ordinance 1,207 has been published in Brazil’s Official Gazette, detailing the technical requirements for online betting licensees. The ordinance outlines that online slots, roulette, card games like blackjack and poker, and sports betting will be allowed once the regulated online gambling market launches.
The regulation also permits crash games, provided they are based on chance rather than player skill. These games must display both the maximum and minimum prize multipliers, as well as the frequency at which they increase.
Games are required to have a minimum Return to Player (RTP) rate of 85%, and any advertised top prize must be awarded at least once in every 100 million player sessions. Operators must present a payout table showing all possible winning outcomes before players place their bets. Default game screens should not display the highest advertised prize unless it is directly related to the most recent game played.
For live casino studios, the ordinance mandates a designated location with strict physical security controls to ensure authorised access only. Surveillance systems must offer continuous and unobstructed views of all live games.
Game studios must be certified by a recognised authority and maintain valid certifications while operating. They are required to obtain revalidation if there are significant changes to critical components. Operators using third-party gaming platforms must provide a certificate of integration.
