The Gambling Commission has released its latest findings from the Gambling Survey for Great Britain (GSGB). Conducted by NatCen, the survey spanned five months from July to November 2023 and gathered responses from 4,801 individuals.

Of those surveyed, 48% acknowledged having engaged in gambling within the preceding four weeks.
Breaking down the modes of gambling, 38% reported participating online, while 29% preferred in-person venues like casinos or lottery kiosks.
Notably, 31% of respondents purchased National Lottery tickets. 21% of them bought lottery tickets as a form of gambling. By excluding these lottery-exclusive players, the non-lottery gambling rate stands at 27%.
Men aged 45-54 emerged as the primary gambling demographic. However, when lottery participation was discounted, the focus shifted to men aged 18-44.
When asked about their sentiments towards gambling, 37% of respondents expressed a neutral stance, rating it a 5 out of 10. Surprisingly, both extreme ends of the spectrum, 0/10 (strong dislike) and 10/10 (strong fondness), garnered 4% of the responses each.
