Luckia Gaming Group, known for its operations in both land-based and online casinos globally, specifically in Spain, aims to offer Spanish players access to RubyPlay’s gaming content through this collaboration.

Dr. Eyal Loz, RubyPlay’s Chief Product Officer, emphasised their dedication to expanding in regulated markets worldwide. He highlighted the appeal of RubyPlay’s games to Luckia’s player base.

Eloy Fernandez, Head of Product at Luckia Gaming Group, believed this partnership will enhance their gaming offerings and attract more players.

The integration will be facilitated through Light & Wonder’s aggregation platform, simplifying connections between players, studios, and operators.

Earlier, Playson also strengthened its foothold in Spain through a partnership with Luckia Gaming.

Meanwhile, Montenegro’s government has responded to concerns from the gambling sector regarding its proposed ban on electronic payments, including e-wallets, bank transfers, and mobile apps. Operators said that the ban, which limited transactions to betting outlets for topping up accounts, could potentially increase rather than decrease the risk of money laundering.

In June, amendments to Article 68f of the Gambling Act were sanctioned by the government. These revisions now forbid the use of e-banking, instant payment systems, and mobile payment services like Apple Pay and PayPal for online gambling transactions. Instead, customers must transfer funds to their online gambling accounts through betting shop facilities or use cards at terminals.

The government plans to review its prohibition on electronic payment methods.

Montenegro aims to strengthen its anti-money laundering (AML) measures as part of its efforts towards European Union (EU) accession, following concerns highlighted by Moneyval, the Council of Europe’s financial intelligence monitor. However, gambling operators argue that these payment restrictions contradict AML recommendations and may violate EU competition rules.

MontenegroBet stated it was collaborating with international organisations to highlight the adverse effects of the regulations. Organisations such as the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and Moneyval have recommended reducing cash transactions to lower the risks associated with money laundering.
